How do you play Couples Pictionary?
Couples Pictionary uses prompts drawn from a couple's shared life — the place you first met, a place you have argued, your partner from memory — so that a two-person game still produces guessable drawings. One partner draws for 60 seconds with no letters or numbers while the other guesses.
How to play
- One of you reads the card without showing it and starts drawing.
- No letters, no numbers, no words on the page.
- The other guesses aloud until the timer goes.
- Guessed in time, the pair scores. Missed, no score, but keep the drawing.
- Swap every round.
Why couples love this game
The drawings are the actual output. Nobody remembers the score, and everybody keeps the picture of themselves drawn from memory in sixty seconds by someone who loves them and cannot draw. Several of these end up on fridges.
Pictionary needs teams, and two people is not teams. The fix is the same one that rescues charades: make the answers things only the two of you would know.
Drawing "a place we have argued" is guessable in about fifteen seconds and produces a drawing worth keeping. Drawing "aeroplane" does not.
All you need is paper and something to write with. If you have neither, use a phone note and draw with a finger — it is worse, which is better.

Frequently asked questions
Does Pictionary work with two players?
Only with the right prompts. Generic words fail because there is no team to pool guesses; prompts from your own relationship are guessable in seconds because the other person has the context.
What do we need to play?
Paper and a pen. A phone note drawn with a finger also works and is arguably funnier because the drawings are worse.
Can you play over video?
Yes — draw on paper and hold it up to the camera as you go, so they watch it develop.
