Questions for Couples

Every deck of questions on the site, sorted by how far you want to go.

Roughly half the games here are question decks, which makes "what should we ask each other?" the thing this site is actually best at. This page is the way into all of them.

The decks are grouped below by how far in they take you, because that is the choice that matters. A first date and an eighth anniversary do not want the same question, and opening with the wrong one is how a good idea turns into a long silence.

Every deck shuffles, so a second run is a different evening. Every card has a Skip, and either person can use it without explaining why.

What are questions for couples?

Questions for couples are prompts two people ask each other to move past small talk. BaeGames groups them into shuffled decks by intent: icebreakers for a first date, playful ones for a slow evening, and serious ones about fears, family and the future. Every deck is free, needs no account, and lets either person skip a card.

Start with these

Questions for a first or second date

Written to get past "so what do you do" without asking anything you would not ask a stranger. These assume no shared history.

Questions when you want to laugh

Low stakes, fast turns, nothing anyone has to think about for a minute before answering.

Questions that go somewhere real

The decks that change the conversation rather than filling it. Worth an evening you have actually set aside.

Questions to ask your partner specifically

Same idea, phrased for who you are asking. Useful when you want the questions to sound like they were written for the two of you.

Questions for a long relationship

For couples who have already covered the obvious ground and need the deck to find something they have genuinely not discussed.

Frequently asked questions

What are good questions to ask your partner?

Good ones are specific and cannot be answered with a single word. "What is the last thing you changed your mind about?" gets somewhere; "how was your day?" does not. Every deck here is written to that rule.

How many questions should we do in one sitting?

Ten to fifteen is a normal evening. The 36 Questions to Fall in Love is the exception — it is designed to be done in one run of about ninety minutes, and splitting it across nights loses most of the effect.

What if one of us does not want to answer something?

Skip it. Every card has a Skip control and neither person owes an explanation for using it. A deck where nothing can be passed on stops being a game very quickly.

Can we do these over text or a call?

Yes. Question decks need nothing but someone reading the card out, so all of them work over a video call, a phone call, or by typing the question and waiting.
