How do you play Predict Your Partner?
Predict Your Partner asks you to write down what your partner will actually do in a real future situation — what they will order, what they will complain about, what they will do first when they get home. Predictions that cannot be settled immediately go on a list and are scored a week later.
How to play
- One of you writes a prediction down without saying it.
- Your partner writes what they think they would actually do.
- Compare. Match scores the predictor.
- Anything that cannot be settled tonight goes on a list.
- Check the list in a week and score it then.
Why couples love this game
The delayed rounds are what make it. Predicting what your partner will complain about by Thursday and being proved right on Wednesday is a specific and enormously satisfying feeling — and being wrong about something you were certain of is a genuinely useful correction.
Every other guessing game on this site asks what your partner thinks now. This one asks what they will do later, which is a much harder and more interesting question.
You write down a prediction, they write down the truth, and you compare — but the good ones are the predictions you cannot settle tonight. Those you note down and check in a week.
It is the only game here with a delayed scoring mechanism, and the week between guessing and finding out is most of the fun.

Tips to make it better
- Write predictions down. Claiming afterwards that you knew is not permitted.
- The delayed ones are the best ones. Actually keep the list.
- Set a reminder for a week. The game dies otherwise.
- Specific predictions only. "Something Italian" does not count.
Frequently asked questions
How is this different from a partner quiz?
A quiz asks what they think now, which they can confirm immediately. This asks what they will do later, so about half the rounds cannot be scored until the thing actually happens.
Do we have to write predictions down?
Yes. Without a written record every round ends with somebody claiming they knew all along, which is not a game.
What if we forget to check the list?
Then it does not work. Set a reminder for a week — the delayed scoring is the whole reason this deck exists.
