How do you play Hot Seat?
Hot Seat is a couples game where one partner answers eight to twelve questions in a row without turning any back on the asker, then the roles swap. Each player gets two passes per round. The one-way structure produces longer, more honest answers than an alternating question game.

- The other person reads cards for a full round — eight to twelve questions.

Why couples love this game
The one-way structure is rare and surprisingly freeing. In a normal conversation you are always half-preparing your own answer; in the hot seat there is nothing to prepare for, so you actually engage with what was asked. Most people say the second half of their round is where they said something they had never said.
In Hot Seat, one of you takes every question for an entire round while the other just asks. No swapping mid-round, no turning it back around, no "well what about you?".
That asymmetry is what makes it different from every other question game. When you know you have ten uninterrupted minutes, you stop giving efficient answers and start giving real ones.
Then you swap — and the second round is always spicier, because the person who just sat through it knows exactly which questions were the good ones.

- Full rounds. Swapping after two questions defeats the entire mechanic.
