How do you play Love Bingo?

Love Bingo is a card of 25 things couples commonly do — falling asleep mid-film, arguing about directions, being mistaken for siblings — which partners tick off together, telling the story behind each one. The squares left unticked at the end double as a list of things to try.

How to play

  1. Go through the card together, square by square.
  2. Tick anything you have both done. One of you remembering counts.
  3. Anything you tick, tell the story. Briefly.
  4. Get five in a row and shout something.
  5. At the end, look at what is left unticked. That is your to-do list.

Why couples love this game

It is a highlight reel you did not know you had. Each ticked square drags up a specific memory, so a ten-minute game turns into an hour of "do you remember" — and the unticked ones are genuinely useful, because a thing you have never done together after six years is worth doing.

A bingo card of things couples do — fallen asleep mid-film, argued about directions, cried at the same thing, been mistaken for siblings. You go through and tick off what applies.

Most of it will. The interesting squares are the three or four that do not, because a list of things you have somehow never done together is a surprisingly good source of ideas.

It takes ten minutes, produces a lot of "oh, that time in—", and works as a warm-up for almost anything else on the site.

Example squares

  • Fallen asleep during a film one of you picked
  • Argued about directions
  • Cried at the same thing
  • Been mistaken for siblings
  • Cooked something genuinely inedible
  • Missed a train or flight

The full game has 25 of these, shuffled every time you play.

Who this game is best for

  • Anniversaries
  • Couples a few years in
  • A gentle warm-up before something else
  • Long-distance calls

Tips to make it better

  • Tell the story on every tick. Silently ticking boxes is not a game.
  • One of you remembering is enough. Disputes are part of it.
  • Screenshot the finished card.
  • The blank squares at the end are the best output. Pick one and do it.

Frequently asked questions

How do you play couples bingo?

Work through the card together and tick anything you have both done, telling the story each time. Five in a row is a line. The unticked squares at the end are the useful part.

Do we need to print anything?

No. The card is interactive and lives in your browser — nothing to print, nothing to download.

How long do we need to have been together?

A year or more, ideally. Below that most of the card stays blank and the game becomes a to-do list rather than a highlight reel.
